Ughelli- Foremost Urhobo ex-militant group known as Urhobo Gbagbako has threatened that any attempt to undermine the Urhobo people in the ongoing Federal Government peace process with ethnic nationalities in Delta state would be radically resisted.

In a statement sent online to journalists and signed by its spokesman, Priest Omodjuvwu said they have always been allergic to the word “traitor” that had made them to renege into hostilities and destructions of facilities of International Oil Companies in Urhobo land few years ago.

According to the group, “dealing with petty crumb eaters and some monarchs can only cause pains to the IOCs and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.”

“We want to let the Federal Government know that making empty promises and trying to pacify us by dealing with evil doers and traitors, will slowly drive NPDC, NNPC and Shoreline into a certain abyss they will never recover from until we get what belongs to us.”

“We, Urhobo Gbagbako, a militia group of all ex-militants, youths, women and elders of Urhobo ethnic nationality, did not and have not given any monarch authority to speak on our behalf on any issue as it concerns the 57 Oil Marginal Fields.”

“The Federal Government is aware of the activities and what Urhobo Gbagbako can do if they fail to deal with the right people in Urhobo land. They should act fast and meet with the real agitators and not with some monarch who cannot speak on behalf of the Urhobo Gbagbako.”

The statement stressed that the agitations of some known groups in Urhobo nation are collective and not personal or meant for some secret meetings with a monarch and few of his chiefs.

The group noted that while they do not condemned private meetings between any traditional ruler in Urhobo land and top government functionaries, meetings meant to address the gross marginalization of Urhobo must be with critical stakeholders who initiated the moves because they are not faceless.
